The Gayatri Mantra
A prayer for joining heaven and earth and invoking
the constant and abiding awareness of the abundance and brilliance
of the I AM, one's Higher Self, the one universal consciousness.
This beautiful mantra is found in the Rig Veda, the most ancient
Sanskrit text. Based on astronomical references within the text,
many scholars believe the Rig Veda to have been composed about
8500 years ago (~6500 BCE). The Gayatri* Mantra’s powerful
energy is the result not only of its profound meaning and beautiful
vibration, but also of its having been repeated daily by millions
people over thousands of years.
*Gayatri - pronounced GUY-uh-tree,
first syllable rhymes with
the word "eye"
